As Women’s Month draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the talented women who make Enovation Digital Marketing the innovative and dynamic agency it is. We sat down with five of our extraordinary team members to hear their thoughts on the digital marketing industry, their challenges, and their hopes for the future. Here’s what they had to say:
Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in digital marketing, and how has your journey been so far?
A: I landed in the world of digital marketing by accident. My career started in journalism and as a writer, I got intrigued by copywriting for platforms like Everlytic social media, and many other mediums that didn’t just include long-form articles. My journey has come with various challenges, but also many opportunities. I’ve found numerous chances to learn and adapt to the ever-changing nature of technology. This has helped me better understand our diverse clients, the intricacies of their customer behaviours, and the importance of staying updated on these constant changes. It’s been a fun journey so far, as I get to learn new things daily.
Q: Can you share a challenge you’ve faced in the industry and how you overcame it?
A: A personal challenge that I faced in the industry was trying to find my “thing”. While working in marketing, I realised that it’s not just one or two things put together, but there are many different avenues to go down to find your “thing”, and that is what happened to me. Keep in mind, that you won’t find these avenues without initiative, going beyond what is expected, proving your point, and making your mark. As a young female, that can be very challenging. My conclusion is to not overthink and doubt your strengths, take a leap of faith, and own it!
Q: How do you stay motivated and innovative in such a fast-paced and ever-evolving field?
A: I try to make time for a bit of learning every day. Whether it’s listening to an inspiring podcast, diving into a motivational book, or catching a quick YouTube video, these small sessions help me stay updated with the latest trends and keep the creative juices flowing.
Every client presents unique challenges, and solving those challenges keeps me on my toes. Their success drives me to keep learning and to find new ways to approach problems. Collaborating with my team is a huge source of inspiration. We’re constantly bouncing ideas off one another, sharing insights, and just fuelling each other’s creativity. That kind of collaboration helps push boundaries.
It’s also important to take breaks. Stepping away for a little bit, whether it’s just a walk or something else, it helps clear my mind. I often come back with fresh ideas after giving myself that mental break. I’m also big on networking. I genuinely enjoy connecting with like-minded professionals.
Q: What advice would you give to women aspiring to enter the digital marketing world?
A: I will start by saying that you will make mistakes and fail, but it’s all part of the process—you are always learning. Doing what you love will never limit you; you will reach and achieve higher. You experience the willingness to get up and do what you love every day. There are so many aspects of marketing to achieve, it’s forever growing and most importantly, you are always growing. Never give up, dream big!
Q: How do you see the role of women in digital marketing evolving in the next few years?
A: I see the role of women in digital marketing continuing to grow and evolve, with more women stepping into leadership positions and driving innovation. As diversity and inclusion become increasingly prioritised, women will play a key role in shaping marketing strategies that resonate with diverse audiences. Their unique perspectives and creativity will be critical in navigating the rapidly changing digital landscape. Women will be rocking and owning digital marketing in the future—watch this space!
